Every year as part of the “Fishing Has Non Boundaries” event, we take a group of residents fishing at Cowan Lake. Residents and volunteers arrived at 8:00 to have breakfast together before heading out on the lake around 9:00. After breakfast, we were assigned two tour guides and a pontoon boat. The men took us out on the lake near the island to stop and fish. Fishing poles, bait and tackle was all provided for us. The weather was perfect. Not many fish were caught, but a good time was had by all! About 11:30 we headed back to shore. Once back to shore, we found a table under one of the big white tents. Volunteers then served us lunch. Each resident received a hat, t-shirt, medal, and a goodie bag.
